Race for Life in Manchester

Stacey McKenna, a Graduate Geo-Environmental Specialist  for GGS, has been raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Stacey completed the 5k Race For Life at Heaton Park, Manchester on Sat 12th July. Despite the hot weather she managed to complete the run in 40mins with the support of family and friends. So far, Stacey has raised over £500 for a charity close to many people’s hearts.

Stacey: “I’m very proud to have taken part in Race For Life this year. Being part of such a huge event opened my eyes as to how many people Cancer has affected. I wanted to raise money for Cancer Research UK because this charity is close to my heart as it has helped my own granddad and mum beat cancer. I encourage everyone to do something, no matter how small to raise money for charities like this one. You never know when you may need their help and support yourself.”

Anyone can sponsor Stacey on her Just Giving page (until 30/08/14) or donate directly to Cancer Research UK website.
