Ground Gas 2019: Receptor Monitoring and Risk Assessment

The Brownfield Briefing ground gas conference returns in May. In its second year, Ground Gas 2019 guarantees a forum for discussion around key topics in ground gas, including receptor monitoring and risk assessment.

GGS Ground Gas 2019Taking place on Thursday 9th May in London, Ground Gas 2019 will showcase the latest knowledge, tools and techniques in ground gas management. Delegates will benefit from a varied mix of new research, cutting edge case studies, practical insights into current projects, and policy updates. With the opportunity for in-depth discussion and debate, Ground Gas 2019 is this year’s go to event for regulators, consultants, remediation contractors and other industry experts concerned with ground gas risk assessment, verification, and protection.

Simon Talbot, Managing Director of GGS, has once again been asked to speak at this industry leading conference. With the publication of CIRIA C735 there is a much greater focus on the quality of gas protection measure installation and validation. Where doubts remain regarding the quality of the installed gas protection or where validation reports are missing, developers face the risk of having unsaleable properties as planning conditions not being discharged.

“Receptor Monitoring and Risk Assessment for Ground Gas” will discuss the context of inadequate gas protection installation and the available techniques and best practice for receptor monitoring and risk assessment. Case studies will be referenced throughout, as will content from the recently published GGS CL:AIRE technical paper, Continuous Ground Gas Monitoring and the Lines of Evidence Approach to Risk Assessment” Expect analysis and discussion on high resolution sub-floor void monitoring, internal monitoring and sampling and how these can be used to inform risk management decisions for both new build and existing properties.

We look forward to seeing you in London this May.
