Contamination Expo 2017: Celebrating Innovation in Contaminated Land

GGS were delighted to have been part of this year’s biggest contaminated land industry exhibition in London. The Contamination Expo 2017 brought together thousands of experts from the land remediation, geotechnical, clean air and hazardous materials sectors for two days of networking, discussion and new business.

With an expected 2,500 professionals attending the second year of the Contamination Expo, it boasted a line-up of 150 leading-edge suppliers and exhibitors and 120 expert-led seminars, all housed within London’s ExCeL.

Having seen the potential for this large-scale meeting of industry professionals at the first Contamination Expo in 2016, GGS signed up to exhibit at what would no doubt be another well attended and successful event.

The event offered the perfect opportunity to showcase some of GGS’ latest technological innovations to other leading industry professionals. It was one of these new developments that resulted in GGS being awarded runner up for the Contamination Expo Award for Innovation.

In the award interview that followed, GGS Managing Director, Simon Talbot had this to say; “It’s truly an honour to be recognised as a leader in innovative technology. GGS has been at the forefront of the contaminated land industry for nearly ten years. I’m proud to say that our commitment to inventive and evolutionary technology is keeping us there.”

As well as exhibiting at Contamination Expo 2017, Simon, delivered a seminar on Day 2 with the title of ‘Successful Continuous Ground-Gas Monitoring and Risk Assessment‘. Aimed at exposing the myths and providing a taster of things to come in the world of continuous monitoring for contaminated land, the seminar attracted a wide variety of professionals all of whom took something valuable away from the session.

As always, GGS held its traditional exhibition prize draw. Delegates were invited to drop their business card into a vase to be in with a chance of winning a bottle of champagne. The draw was made by Nicola Harries of CLAIRE, with the lucky winner being Michala S.
