Reduce ground-gas risks, discharge of planning conditions and successful completion and sign-off of developments
In the context of the Model Procedures for the Management of Land Contamination (CLR11) Remediation Options should be identified for each relevant pollutant linkage identified at a site. i.e. those pollutant linkages that have been identified through the process of risk assessment to be causing or having the potential to cause harm. The remedial options available to manage unacceptable risks are:
- manage (remove, modify) the source;
- interrupt the pathway or;
- modify the receptor or the behaviour of the receptor.
Where a site is identified as requiring remediation to ensure suitability for the proposed end use then Ground-Gas Solutions Limited (GGS) will carefully consider the remediation options available. Choosing the appropriate remediation (and subsequent validation) can lead to reduction in risk from ground-gas hazards, discharge of planning conditions and successful completion and sign-off of developments. The approach will also ensure that the ground-gas contamination is dealt with in a appropriate and cost effective manner.
GGS has strong relationships with a wide network of ground-gas remediation contractors and service providers, whilst maintaining a position as an independent consultant. This independence affords the flexibility to deliver greater assurance in the decision-making process.
