With the aim of sharing UK developments and best practice, Ground-Gas Solutions’ (GGS) Managing Director, Simon Talbot, was recently invited by the Australasian Land and Groundwater Association (ALGA) to run a series of seminars and technical workshops on ground-gas continuous monitoring, risk assessment and protection in Australia and New Zealand. Run in collaboration with Peter Atchison of PAGeotechnical Ltd (PAG), the training courses took place in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.

GGS involved in Closed Landfill Workshop

Ground Gas Solutions will be speaking at a closed landfill workshop as part as the ACUMEN project.  The event is free and will take place in Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland.

 

The full day workshop will focus on approaches to reducing methane emissions from closed landfills that have been demonstrated by the ACUMEN project, such as small scale landfill gas engines, low calorific gas flaring and bio-oxidation technologies.  The workshop will also address the monitoring techniques to help site owners assess a site that then can be used to better understand the ground gas regime or improve upon gas management systems.

GGS presented at UKTI Low Carbon R&D seminar, Warsaw

The British Embassy in Warsaw hosted a Low Carbon R&D seminar last Thursday on the 5th February 2015.  The full day event provided an overview of low carbon products and services and promoted on-going R&D projects as well as looking at collaboration opportunities between British and Polish partners.
