GGS is very pleased to announce its first speaker slot of 2019. Simon Talbot, Managing Director of GGS, looks forward to presenting at Brownfield Land Scotland 2019.
Brownfield Briefing and Environmental Analyst begin a new year of its popular programme of seminars focusing on contaminated land management with Brownfield Land Scotland. This popular annual event will take place at the Edinburgh Training and Conference Centre on Wednesday 6th February. The seminar will offer a forum for discussing practical solutions for improved risk assessment, remediation and development of brownfield and contaminated land in Scotland.
Simon Talbot, Managing Director of GGS, has the pleasure of being at the top of the list of conference speakers. Simon will be presenting on “Ground Gas: Managing Scotland’s Mining Legacy with Appropriate Ground Gas Risk Assessment & Protection” at 9:40am. The presentation content will examine Scotland’s coal mining legacy and current hazards, including specific risks associated with mine gas. The presentation will also clarify the current regulatory stance on ground gas risk assessment on development sites, including former mine works. In addition, the address will assess possible implications arising from the Gorebridge mine gas case, including mandatory gas protection measures for new developments for Local Council Contaminated Land and Environmental Health Officers, and their consultants.
Brownfield Land Scotland will connect contaminated land and environmental health officers, local councils, regulatory agencies, brownfield consultants and contractors for solutions driven discussions on current challenges within contaminated land. It’s a great opportunity to share ideas and best practice with fellow experts and professionals, resulting in new ideas and ultimately higher standards within this vital industry.
We look forward to seeing you in Edinburgh this February.
